How to begin a search with the Salvation Army missing persons department

The best way to begin a search is to call us at 1-800-698-7728 so we can determine if we are able to assist you. 

The following information MUST be provided to do a search:

• Missing persons complete name (including maiden name if a woman)
• date of birth
• place of birth
• parents names (including mother's maiden name)
• reason for separation
• date of last contact (must have been at least 6 months prior to request)
• inquirers relationship to missing person
• reason for the inquiry

Other helpful information requested:

• Social Security number
• last known address
• spouse
• siblings
• children
• military service
• religious or club affiliations, copy of inquirer's birth certificate
• is/has missing person been involved with substance abuse
• has missing person been in prison or have a police record
• is missing person homeless
